Week Full of Goodness
30 Jan
This past week was pretty stellar on all accounts.
It rained Monday so I got myself in the gym for some core and upper body work. Forgot mah Merrell Pace gloves, so had to wear “normal” shoes. Soo weird.
Tuesday was a nice, though slightly chilly, day of intervals and making lots of food
Wednesday was a steady road ride after way too much stress at work, but it was nice and warm and required sunscreen
Thursday may just have been one of the best Thursday’s ever.
We took a vacation day, slept in, met up with some really cool Canadian mountain bikers, and I got to ride my new race bike. I didn’t even go that slow.
Friday was an easy road ride and chilling out at home
Saturday Justin had a bunch of bike work to do, and eventually we set off for a 4 hour road ride from Rock N’ Road Anaheim Hills down to the beach and back. Spectacular day and I wound up proper knackered (that’s for you, Steph!)
Tried to sleep in Sunday, but it just wasn’t happening. Got up, got breakfast, and headed south for a road/trail/road ride around Daley Ranch to break in the new bike some more.
Super awesome weather for the end of January. I couldn’t be happier.
Oh, right, I was thoroughly knackered Sunday after the ride too.
Nap. I can haz one?
Nah, we got home, made dinner, and I spent the evening eating.
More on the tasty goodness that is the Specialized Stumpjumper 29er hardtail soon. I promise.
Can’t wait to get a BG scan and fit done at Rock N’ Road on this bad boy!
Meantime, having a blast riding with this guy
Oh, and I’m back on sugar I think. Maybe it’ll help me get through my rides better.
Until next time…

After a successful 2010 that led Allison to her 1st international competition, at the 2010 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships in Mont-Sainte-Anne, she succumed to an injury that kept her off the bike and out of training for 2011. Missing out valuable training time, race experience, and needed results in 2011, Allison has ensured 2012 will be a solid year of training, racing, and new experiences across the country and internationally where she plans to race and promote Bikes for Boobs benefitting Mammograms in Action. She continues to ride and race with mutual support from Rock N' Road Cyclery in Orange County, as well as with her husband, Justin.
